Ingredients needed for dumplings
Vegetables needed
- Spring onions - Two
- Coriander - Large bunch
- Garlic - Two table spoons
- Ginger - Three table spoons
Sauces needed
- Rice wine vinegar - Half a table spoon
- Sesame oil - One table spoon
- Soy sauce - Two table spoons
- Fish sauce - Three table spoons
Other ingredients needed
- 450 grams of chicken mince
- Gyoza wrappers from Asian grocery store, $10 for 100 round wrappers.
- Chilli Oil sauce from Asian grocery store.
How to make dumpling mixture
Add the following to a large frying pan.
Chop two spring onions.
Chop one bunch of coriander.
Grate three table spoons of ginger.
Chop two table spoons of garlic.
Rice wine vinegar - half a table spoon
Sesame oil - one table spoon
Soya sauce - two table spoons
Fish sauce - three table spoons
Mix then fry on medium-high heat until chicken cooked. Transfer mixture to a bowl.
How to fold dumplings
One teaspoon of filling in each. Wet wrapper edges with water on your finger. Crimp over edges in a gyoza fold.
How to cook dumplings
Add vegetable oil to fry pan and cook 8 dumplings at a time, lightly fry both sides.
Then add half a cup of water and a table spoon of chicken stock and boil off the water.
Serve with your favourite Chilli Oil. Or freeze and cook later.
